My weighin did not go as expected. Since Sunday, I have been 100% complete totally on track with everything. My eating has been great, my water on target, and Ive exercised all by yesterday for the week so far. But I got on the scale and saw 160.4 - that is only a .2 loss from Monday.
Would someone please explain to me how it is that I can eat like shit for a week and weigh in at 160.6, and eat like a saint and weigh in at 160.4? I know that if someone had the answer, they would be rich and in the best of health. But its frustrating. I can accept a gain when I know I havent been on plan. But its hard to accept when Im doing my very best and have been under 160 for several months now. How did I get stuck here again? Trying not to panic but its hard and disapointing.
In positive news, there have been some great weightloss shows on tv this week. Biggest Loser started up again and I am hoping I get more into this season than the last. This is definitely the heaviest group of people and it will be good to watch them go far. I really enjoyed DietTribe actually. I think I liked it because it was more "real world". Sure, not everyone has a personal trainer and therapist, but at least these women werent contained to a ranch where they only had time to work out and the food was controlled. I felt it was more of a realistic show than Biggest Loser can sometimes be, and it is less than a game. One thing I was upset with BL last night was that here it is the first week, everyone is so excited to lose weight, and they couldnt even fully enjoy it because they were so concerned with going home. Sure the show is a game, but people shouldnt be crying when they lost 20 pounds just because its not "good enough" and means they are going home. So DietTribe was a fresher show for me and I could relate a lot of what all of the girls said at times or felt. All I can say is, I need all the motivation I can get when I have a day like today on the scale.

Please don't let the scale get you down. That's why most people fail at dieting - they see a number, get frustrated, and say "I might as well just eat junk food because I'm not losing weight anyway." Then they REALLY will not lose weight. Instead, you have to stay the course. Just chalk it up to water weight or an aberrant scale reading. Stick to your plan. Know that it WILL work - if you stick to it. If you give up, it definitely WILL NOT work!! So, keep your head up, and keep up the good work!
When I was going to LA Weight Loss, they told me "It takes 3 days to show and 4 days to go"....maybe this is just residual from before you were 'eating like a saint'.
Maybe not.....weight loss can sure seem to be random. Listen to your body over the scale. Do you feel good? If you know you have eaten right and had all your water, if you've exercised, done everything right....don't let the scale get you down - sooner than later it will 'catch up' with your behavior. Instead, congratulate yourself on some good days and notice how good your body feels after those 'good' days.
Hugs to you Heather. x
This morning, I posted a blog entry that had many similarities to yours...I had stayed on my program for two weeks and was shocked this morning when I put on a pair of pants that are normally comfortable...and they were tight. I freaked out a bit, but wrote about it, and got tons of support. I got the help I need to stay on the program. I know you will stick with it, just remember weight loss can be a fickle thing, but it will happen.
Muscle is heavier than fat, so maybe you have less fat and more muscle? Just a thought. x
You look SOOOO wonderful. Don't let the numbers get you down. I think once we have established good habits with eating and exercise, the loss just isn't there any more or at least slows waaaay waaaaay down.
Path to Health
Probably just a bit of residual holiday stickiness. The great news is that you got back into the healthy way of living. The scale will catch up (after it's through torturing you.)
I don't have an answer for you, but that happens to me often. Sometimes the weeks I eat out too much, too late and too many cheesy and/or fried foods I lose! Grrr! Just remember that eat well and exercising isn't just about weight- it's also your health!
