And another step back

Up again...now I am at 158.4

I dont have anything else to say..I am so sick of doing everything I can, and the scale just goes up. I know people leave comments to be supportive, but perhaps if you weighed in and always saw the scale go up, you wouldnt think its so silly to get upset.

I'm sorry that you are having a hard time with this. Just curious..how tall are you? Could it be that this is the weight your body is comfortable at? and that is why even when you follow everything right it doesn't go down. Just a thought.
Chin up girl *Hugs* hang in there!

I've been lurking for awhile lately, not commenting anyone, but I gotta call you out on this.... you don't ALWAYS see the scale go up, so that's an exaggeration. You have lost HOW much weight now? I don't really know your rationale behind weighing in so many times during the week, but I think it's harming your spirit, drive, and determination more than helping it & I'd lay off it so much. It's taxing to you mentally to go through these ups and downs. Why not just give it a TRY? What is there to lose by putting it away for a week? You have gone from over 200 pounds to being in the 150s. Think back to the 200 pound Heather & how THRILLED you would have been at that point to weigh 158 pounds. Rather than get disgusted about these small fluctuations, look at the big picture!

I second Teale, you should give yourself more credit and not obsess about the numbers at this point, think of what you've accomplished and pat yourself! :-)
Two days after a splurge, the scale says I've gained 3 lb, so what? I know this can't be accurate. Just hang in there, and the scale WILL move eventually, as it's done before. I do understand your frustration, just try not to let it be on center-stage. Just whisper some swearword to scale, and go on with your day :-) That's what I do!

I'm sorry you feel that you are being told that you are silly to get upset...you are not silly. You are so close to your goal, it must be frustrating to be so close and feel like you are so far away!
BUT Maybe kari is right....does your goal need to be adjusted? Is your body happy and healthy at this weight?

I just reviewed your last few posts. Maybe your feelings of frustration have more to do with stress at work and the change of seasons than with the scale? Try a good B vitamin complex...that helps with moods. After all, just 3 days ago you posted a loss!

I've been seeing the scale go up or stay still... I can understand it.

I have to ask though: you look great now... are you sure you can/should lose more weight? Have you reached your healthy weight already?

silly? NOT AT ALL.

at all.

with any goal it is frickin (yes I said it) to feel yourself stagnent or sliding a bit backward.

lemmie know if I can help at all...off to reread a few posts and see if I have any ideas.

Oh sweetie... I'm sorry this is getting you down. Honestly, I weigh myself daily too, and it fluctuates DAILY! Usually on the upside, but I don't stress it until my "official" weigh in day. And normally, I am down on those days. Its just how my body works. My daily weigh ins just keep me in check and kinda motivate me to keep going, but they don't count until my Tuesday WI. And unless its over a pound, I really don't care.

I do understand your frustration though, and you are not being silly. You're being human! It'll be ok, you'll see! =)

I don't think it's silly to be upset. I feel the same way when the scales goes up. It sucks.

Just try not to let the *up* scale mess with your head to the point of giving up or eating more... because you are a wonderful success and I truly admire what you have done (and are doing) for your health.

Hang in there girl, the scale will come back down.

My two cents ... I think you should figure out what days you usually have your lowest weight and just weigh yourself on that day or if you feel like you have to weigh yourself everyday, you should take the average. You know your weight fluctuates up to 5 pounds so why make yourself crazy about it. You've done so well and as long as you keep eating right and working out I think you should be able to feel good about your success instead of feeling frustrated by the fluctuations. Don't let the numbers get you down. :)

I understand that you're upset and I've been there...I had 8 weeks where I did the yo-yo thing of up 1 down 2, etc.

It's fine that you do daily weigh-ins...I do, too...but you should only be using one day as your "official" weigh-in reading. I'm up 3.2 from Friday morning and I'm a bit mad at myself, but I know it's partly because I had A TON of salty stuff over the weekend and my period is starting. I'll get back on track today and I'm sure it'll be fine by Saturday.

Don't beat yourself up over the daily fluctuations. You have done way too well to knock yourself down now.

have you considered using something like the chart at physicsdiet.com to track your weight? It might help your state of mind to see that the overall pattern is downward. Sometimes, pictures help us see things more clearly.

I have been thinking the same thing as another commenter. Is your weight considered average for your height? Maybe your body doesn't have anymore fat go give :) Maybe a body fat test will tell the big picture?
