Happiest Girl in the World

Yes everyone, I am quite possibly the happiest person in the world....I weighed in and I am 189.0!!!

Not only did I get in the 180's like I had wanted, but Im not even a "point" something like 189.9 (which I would have been completely ok with). I had such an amazing week and this just caps it off. I am moving further and further from 200 and I am NEVER going to be there again.

I did a few things different this week that may have helped. First, I did yoga (see previous post) which probably boosted my metabolism. I also tried drinking the meal replacement shakes for lunch 2 days rather than having them for breakfast. Not sure if this really had anything to do with the weight loss, and Im not sure I could do that every week, but this week was kind of crazy at work and they were handy.

In 2 more pounds I will have hit the big 20 lost, and in 6 more pounds I will be in new territory that has not been charted since probably 2001-2002. My lowest weight since getting fat was in May 2004 where I got to 184 for my masters degree graduation. Once I go beyond that, I know I will be seeing some results that I havent seen in a long time! Going in to college I was about 150-160 and that is where my goal is set at. I cant even imagine!

In other sad news, one of my favorite counselors at the center (the asst manager Katie) quit. I wondered why there were new people there on Wed (the girl who weighed me is the new manager I guess). I will miss her so much because she was the first person I spoke to when I went in there 13 weeks ago completely desperate. She was one of my biggest cheerleaders and Im sad she will never get to see the impact she had on me and me at my goal weight. I know she would be proud, but it makes me so sad. At least Danielle is still there, but if she left I would be very upset.

Well I am off to celebrate my victory with a nice healthy meal!

I am happy for you, and at tad envious. I haven't been in the 180's in 20 years or so.

I'm very proud of you for tackling this while you're young and your metabolism is young, too. It's that much harder at my age (47). I wish I had followed your example years ago.

But we're gonna do it. And you're doing great. Really, you inspire me.

Oh, and why not ask the center's manager/supervisor if they'd forward a thank you letter/card from you to your fave counselor?

That way, they don't have to divulge personal info, but you can let them know how much they meant. Maybe include your email addy so that they can contact you if they so wish. Give your blog url so they can see how great you're doing.

Really, do it. I'd be thrilled to get a letter/card from someone saying I helped them achieve a life goal!!!

I'm sorry that your fave counselor left. Hopefully the new person will be just as great!
