Looking Great in 2008 Week 31

Wow I cant believe that it is the last week of the Tales from the Scales Challenge. This is week 31 and if you notice how many weeks I have been on this whole lifestyle change, you will see that I have participated in this challenge almost the whole time I have been trying to lose weight and become healthy.

Finally! the scale moved for me and I am down .2. My final weigh in for the challenge is at 165.6. When I began this challenge, I was at 194.5. That is 28.9 pound loss! Pretty incredible.

Today at work we had a baby shower for a woman who adopted a child from vietnam. pretty much all of the food was processed and unhealthy and the only thing I ate was some watermelon which was really juicy! Later on in the day I noticed that another woman I work with looked like she wasnt feeling well. She said that she had been trying to eat well all week and then overate at the party and felt horrible. I told her that happens to me when I eat something processed and said that it is our bodies way of telling us that we shouldnt eat that stuff! This is just another example of how you really can detox your body from processed foods and sugars.

Well it is a great ending to a great challenge. I have loved the support and accountability I have had throughout it, as well as those that I have met as well. I know we will all continue to succeed!

Yay for a moving scale and all your success, and good for you on eating only the watermelon. I haven't had watermelon in ages - sounds yummy!

Great job Heather. And to think, you are making these changes at such a young age that you have your entire life ahead of you to enjoy your healthy body. I am envious of you - I wish I would have had the strength that you have when I was 25.

Awesome, fabulous, rockin' work!

I have the same reaction when I eat "bad" foods after eating healthy for so long. My body really speaks to me!

Almost 30!! WOW!

Congratulations on your success!! You have much to be proud of!

And you are SO right about the upset stomach--I've noticed since I've been trying to eat healthier, when I do indulge in some junk, I feel horrible afterwards. There's something to that!

Oh, I feel you! Processed foods make me so sick now... I can't believe how horrible they are to my body. To think they're all I used to eat! I've had a solitary box of Kraft mac & cheese in the pantry, the lone wolf left from a Costco sized motherlode, and while I haven't been able to make myself throw it away the thought of eating it just makes my stomach roll.

I have to point out that I love Trader Joe's because if you have a weekend too busy to make homemade soup, you can buy theirs and it's usually organic with only natural ingredients. 'Tis lovely :)

Also, you're beautiful! I'm excited to read your blog!
