TGIF

Man I am so glad today is friday. this week was one of the most stressful weeks of my life. today was just horrible and I snuck out of work early to do some retail therapy. hey, better than food right!?! That is what I would have done...driven myself to the store and bought a pizza, some doritos, and some chex mix. Instead of I went to the Gap and now I fit in a size 14 there! I am sure part of it is the style, however I havent been in a size 14 in a looooong time.

Weighed in at 174.8 so its a new low! Im down 1.2 from Wed, but only an overall loss for the week of .2. Hey, a loss is a loss. Also had another great NSV at work. We had a company meeting today and when they do that during lunch, they provide it for us. I have learned from past experiences that it is usually never healthy so I brought my lunch as usual. I was right..it was pizza. So I sat there and ate my healthy lunch while the rest of the company ate pizza. Sure it was quite awkward as everyone made some comment or another about it, and sure, I wanted that pizza soooooo bad. But I didnt have any and its definitely worth the rewards.

In regards to the show I watched the other night involving people who were overweight and liked being overweight..it actually ended up being an intersting show. Only one of the people featured actually pissed me off. One girl was actually really awesome...she was overweight and was trying to start a Body Awareness Program on her campus so that people could come to recognize different types of bodies. It wasnt that she was advocating being fat or that she herself would rather be fat...rather she wanted people to be aware that every body is different and you shouldnt treat people differently because of it. I actually thought that was really positive. Another featured person was this morbidly obese gay man who used his weight to tap in to a "Chubbs and Chasers" scene. This guy was trying to make a statment too because he said that most people think that morbidly obese people sit on their couches all day, and then it showed how he gets in a truck every day and goes to work and has an office job and everything. He actually did get around better than I would have thought as he was almost 500 pounds. While I thought his lifestyle was extremely unhealthy as he certainly enjoyed being overweight, he didnt use the show to advocate it. However the last person was a girl who was thin, and then became overweight. She said she felt more confident in herself since becoming overweight, and that the guys she met liked her better that way. Her friends however were very concerned for her health and voiced that to her, however she said that they should be glad that she likes herself this way and accept it. Then they showed a scene where she complained about how there were no cute clothes in her size while the rest of her friends bought cute dresses and shirts. Finally one of her friends dared her to go to the dr to see what she thought about her weight. The dr told her she was pre-diabetic and that it certainly was attributed to her weight. I think it scared the girl, but not a first. Her friend said, you would choose to look like this over your life? I think a good point came from the girls' mother...she said that its not the weight that makes her feel better, its that she is a different person from who she was a long time ago and she attributes that to her weight, but really she just has a better self awareness and confidence, and that she could still have that if she was thin. So overall, a very interesting show.

It had to be hard not eating pizza...it is one of those foods that really gets to most people and the smell is hard to avoid. Good for you!

WOW!! Size 14 jeans at the Gap!! Thats a REAL 14, not a Lane Bryant 14, I'm so incredibly happy for you. You work so hard, resisting office pizza is a HUGE NSV!! I'm so proud of you. Thank you so much for the kind words you left on my blog today...and always.

Retail therapy is so much better than comfort food. Good for you getting into a 14 at the Gap. And YAY for the loss! Be proud of yourself for skipping the Pizza. That mental toughness is what it takes to succeed at this and you've got it. Enjoy your weekend.

honey, you are my hero. facing down the catered lunches is so freaking hard for me... 1. b/c it looks so yummy; 2. b/c i don't want to be the odd guy out, bringing attention to myself at the table w/ my home-made lunch.

however, it sounds like you have done A LOT of hard work to achieve your size 14 victory...

this post is pure inspiration. i can't even imagine how good it must have felt to put those 14s on...

Thanks for the comment on my blog about my weigh in day today ...your comment was very uplifting and it is great to have such support here.

That show you watched sounded interesting , I wish I would have seen that one. That is great that you lost ...way to go!! It is such an empowering feeling when I lose , it's just awesome in my book.

I will keep you and everyone up to date on what I find out about how many calories I am eating with the WW points ...I am really interested in knowing and I want to see if that is what is making me maintain for the last two WI's.

Have a great weekend and Happy Losing :)
