Looking Great in 2008 Week #19

Well either Monday was a fluke or today is...because I am up 1.2 from where I was on Monday. I think it may be today because I did eat lunch a lot later than usual, and it was heavier than usual too. We went out to lunch because a coworker of mine is leaving for a new job. We went to Fridays and I had a salad, but I wasnt eating until almost 130, which is an hour later than usual.

In any case, Im not going to dwell on it..I am still down 2 pounds from last week's weigh in, 176.4! Last week was great in that I got to the 30 pounds lost checkpoint, and made my mini goal of 30 pounds lost by the 19th.

I wanted to explain for a minue how I do these challenges (both this one and the Healthy You Challenge). I dont base my weigh in off of a week such as Sun-Sat. I base it off my weight the same day the previous week. So last week on Wed. I weighed 178.4 and I compare my current weight to that weeks weight and list my loss as the difference. For the Healthy You Challenge, I do the same thing. I dont weigh in on Tuesdays, so I base my weight on my Monday weigh in. I do keep track of my weight in my food diary, so I am able to see what a "true" week is, which for me is Friday-Thurs. Im sure everyone figures out their losses differently, but thats just how I do mine for these challenges.

So while I had a crappy day and seeing I am up over a pound didnt help at all, I am ok with this because I still have lost 30 pounds, and I am fairly certain (as I have stayed on plan), that either I am up today because of what I ate for lunch, or something was up with my weigh in on Monday.

I'm sorry you had a crappy day. Fwiw, I think you're right, though. It's the overall total that matters, and whether or not you're eating correctly (which you are). The scale will adjust itself at some point.

I agree with Cammy - you know, I can go up and down up to 5 lbs in a day, so not to worry - you are doing such a great job!

The scale can fluctuate and thats why when I was weighing daily, I was taking use an average for the week for my official weigh in day. You are still doing incredible and I'm so glad you aren't letting this throw you off balance!

don't let the scale get you down... stay positive and enjoy how far you come and before you know it you'll be lower on the scale adn feeling great
